SmartRates may also use a web analytics provider (e.g., Google Analytics with IP anonymization enabled) and a CDN (Content Delivery Network) for fast page loads. These services may process anonymized request data (IP address, browser, referring URL) as part of standard web infrastructure.
6. Data Security
Because we do not collect or store your financial data, there is no database of personal financial information that could be breached. All calculator computations happen entirely on your device.
Our website is served over HTTPS (TLS encryption) to protect data in transit.
7. Children's Privacy
SmartRates is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through our site, please contact us and we will promptly remove it.
8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) provide you with specific rights regarding your personal information.
Because SmartRates does not collect personally identifiable information, sell personal data, or share personal data with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising, most CCPA obligations do not apply to our site. We do not sell or share your personal information — period.
California residents nonetheless have the right to: • Know what personal information (if any) is collected about them • Request deletion of any personal information we hold • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (which we do not engage in)
